Jerry Wayne Ewald, age 66, has gone to his Heavenly home on August 5, 2015, surrounded by family, after a 4 month battle with AML. He was born in Galveston, Texas on September 27, 1948. He attended St. Patrick School and graduated from Ball High School. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Jerry worked in Houston for the SPCA for 20 years, then returned to Galveston. The past 20 years he has been employed by The Hilton, Landry’s Hospitality.

He had a knack for playing dominoes and Uno. He also loved to dance, bowl, bike ride, and eating-he loved all foods. Jerry loved his job and remembered every friend and family member when it came to Christmas cards and birthday gifts.

Jerry was a kidney transplant recipient in December of 2004. He never complained of any pain and always followed doctor’s orders to a tee.

Jerry will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruth Ewald Sr.; brother Fred, Jr; and sister Janet Rodefeld.

He is survived by his brother David Ewald and wife Paula of Santa Fe; sister-in-law Rita Ewald of Galveston and brother-in-law Fred Rodefeld of Texas City; nieces Melody Ewald-Fabain of Galveston, Brittany Ewald of Santa Fe and Corrigan Ewald of League City; nephews Bubba Ewald of Fort Worth, Craig Ewald(Renae) of League City, Rodney Rodefeld of Texas City, Ross Rodefeld(Kristin) of Frisco, Texas, Ryan Ewald of Santa Fe, Jonathan Ewald of Galveston, Jerrett Fabain of Galveston, Austin Walsh-Ewald and Tyler Walsh-Ewald of League City, Texas, Luke, Jake and Drew Rodefeld of Frisco, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Deacon Henry Herrera. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to service time beginning at 11:00 A.M., with a Rosary to begin at 12:30 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Jerry’s nephews. Honorary pallbearer will be Gilbert Lopez.
