Ronald Edgar Williams
August 8, 1948 – February 23, 2025
Ron, age 76, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran who dedicated his life to service and family.
Ron began his military career by joining the U.S. Navy before continuing his service in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he retired, as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, after a distinguished career. His commitment to duty and country was a testament to his strength, integrity, and unwavering dedication.
A firm believer in the power of education, Ron earned a Bachelor’s in Science and Technology, followed by a Master’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Science. He was passionate about learning and always encouraged those around him to pursue knowledge and personal growth.
A man of deep faith, Ron was a devoted member of Moody Memorial United Methodist Church, where he found strength in his beliefs and community. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Faye Williams; sisters, Janet Colter and LaShurn Parish and brother, Daniel Williams. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; sister, Elaine (Don) Parker; his children, Joshua Williams, Kellie (Ben) Larson, Angela (Ed) Hernandez, Jennifer (Lyn) Austin, Douglas Kollars, and Elizabeth Clark; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Gavin Larson, Matthew (Jessica) Hernandez, Kevin Hernandez, Amaya and Adia Austin, Carter and Evyn Clark; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
Ron will be remembered as Mr. Snow-It-All, the «Man with the beard who knew things», his kindness, wisdom, unique sense of humor, his gift of story telling, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legendary mix of kindness, faith, and dedication will stick around like a catchy song in the hearts of everyone he inspired.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Christian Life Center at Moody Memorial Methodist Church, 2803 53rd Street, Galveston, Texas 77551. Please come dressed in casual attire.
