Remer Franklin Hutchinson

Remer Franklin Hutchinson, age 80, passed away Friday Jan. 1, 2021 peacefully at his home in Galveston, Texas.  He was born in Hahira, Georgia, on March 10 1940.  As a young man he joined the Marines and then graduated college.  He married the love of his life, Dr. Elaine Hutchinson (Bertram) on June 21, 1969. They resided in Cedarburg, Wisconsin where they had their one and only son Remer Bertram Hutchinson (Bert).   They moved to Stevens Point, Wisconsin where Remer purchased Weber Tackle Company.  He loved fishing!  Later they sold Weber Tackle Company and Remer did financials for a Realty firm in Wausau, Wi. Their only child, Bert passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, on January 8, 1996, he was only 21 years of age. In 2007 Remer and Elaine fulfilled their dream by retiring at a beach home in Crystal Beach, Texas.  On September 1, 2008, Hurricane Ike took their home and almost all their treasured possessions.  After living in Houston for a year, they purchased another home on the beach on the West end of Galveston.  This is where they resided until they both passed.  They had a great life together of 50 years and now will have a great eternity together in Heaven. Remer was a kind and gentle man, willing to do anything for anyone.  His Southern charm and courtesy for others will be an honored memory of him.  He loved walking on the beach and picking up shells.  

Remer Hutchinson was preceded in death by his Son, Bert and his Wife, Elaine, his parents and one brother and one sister.   He is survived by seven brothers and two sisters and his niece Christine.  He will be greatly missed.
