Mary Elizabeth Whatley

Mary Elizabeth Whatley, age 43, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Houston Methodist Hospital.  She was born in Houston, Texas on December 26, 1979. She lived in Huffman, Texas from 1980-1990. In 1992 she moved to Galveston and attended O’Connell High School. She loved The Island. She worked for Stewart Title since 2016 as an escrow officer. Prior to Stewart Title, she worked for the City of Galveston. 

She loved The Island and had a bubbly personality and was always happy. She was fun to be around and could always make you smile. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her fiancé John Benny Rollins, Jr, who passed away September 11, 2009. 

She is survived by her children, Nicholas Stone, Emma Stone, John Rollins III and Katie Rollins; brothers David Whatley Jr and Jason Whatley; sister-in-law Cecily Grasso; nieces Chloe Whatley and Maddie Whatley; nephew David Whatley, III; her dog Oakley; and numerous other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
