Marvin Wander, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025 at his residence in Galveston. He was born on February 22, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a young boy, he was always building something, usually model airplanes which were his passion. He spent his early years in Newport, KY schools graduating from Newport High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati studying Engineering.
After college, he accepted a position in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he met his wife of 60 years. He worked in Albuquerque and Los Alamos, New Mexico. After a brief stay in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, the family moved to Baytown, TX eventually settling in Houston where Marvin began a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. Marvin ended his long career owning and operating a company that manufactured specialized lighting fixtures for oil rigs and natural gas plants.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Louella Wander; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Frances Harrison, sister Billie Jean (Bob) Allen, and son Joseph Conner.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter Cynthia Wander of Galveston, TX, son Bradley (Pamela) Wander of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Justin and Trevor Conner, Rainee (Evan) Basham, Russell, Nicholas and Ellie Wander; great-grandchildren Audrey and Jacob Conner; brother-in-law John Harrison, sister-in-law Linda Alaniz of New Mexico; sisters Elaine (Art) McSorley of Kentucky, Sharon (Denny) Rosenhagen of Tennessee, Jacalyn Henegar of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Bristol Hospice for their care during this time. The family thanks the J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home for their help and care.
