Lillie Amelia Scholky

Miss Lillie Scholky age 99, passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2024 at her residence. She was born on April 30, 1925 in Galveston, Texas. Miss Scholky graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1943, retired from the Moody Compress after 45 years, and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church. Lillie was always proud of her Czech heritage and loved barbequed ribs, cooking and baking and was known for her chocolate cake, cornbread, gumbo and holiday sweet potatoes. She had a great sense of humor, funny sayings that will go down in history, and was always in good spirits. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Andrew Scholky and Anna Cecilia Foytik Scholky, her fiancé Pete Clark, sisters Pauline Anna Scholky Rammer, Elsie Lottie Scholky Gober, and cousins Doris Denke Janek and Mary Ann Vento Montalbano. 

She is survived by her nephew, Jay Gober and wife Sara, nephew Robert A. Rammer, Sr., great-nieces Susan Lessard, Natalie Gober and Elizabeth Gallagher, and great-nephew John McNatt. 

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Lillie’s caregivers for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time: Brian Ritell, Reba Broussard, Mary Armstrong and Margaret Rittenhouse. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M., with Deacon Robert Standridge officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.
