Juana Guadalupe Gonzales

Juana “Jeanette” Guadalupe Gonzales, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Vibra Hospital of Clear Lake.   

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 14, 1945, Jeanette was the eldest child of Juan and Gloria Dominguez. She was a graduate of Incarnate Word Academy in Brownsville, Texas and worked for Shriner’s Hospital in Galveston. Once retired, she continued to work with and help families as a paraprofessional through her service within Galveston ISD. 

Jeanette was a devoted wife for 57 years, mother and grandmother. She was the matriarch of the family in every way and the center of the family’s strength. She was a constant presence in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives from attending school functions, spending weekends at the ballfield, to volunteering for various organizations alongside her family. Jeanette remained forever supportive and encouraging to those around her and will be remembered for her welcoming smile, infectious laugh, and unconditional love. Her family and friends will greatly miss her reassuring and comforting hugs. 

Jeanette is predeceased by her parents, Juan and Gloria Dominguez of Galveston, and son, Peter Gonzales III of Galveston. 

Jeanette was survived by her husband, Pete Gonzales. She is survived by her brother, Romaldo Dominguez (Anna), daughter, Elaine Ayala (Chris), son, John Edward Gonzales (Patricia) and her grandchildren, Johnathan Gonzales, (Skye and son Miles), Jeffrey Wadkins, Miranda Gonzales, Jake Wadkins, Jonah Gonzales, and Isabella Ayala, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00am followed by a Celebration of Life from 10:00 – 11:00am at The Gathering Church, 2418 7th Avenue North, Texas City, TX 77590. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Bayou Pines, the doctors and nurses of Mainland Hospital and Vibra Hospital of Clear Lake for their care and compassion for Jeanette throughout her life. The family would also like to offer a special THANK YOU to Doris Dunn and family for their lifetime of love and support. We could not have made it without you!
