Joyce Ann Ford was born April 29, 1933 in Galveston, TX and was a graduate of Ball High School. She married Robert H. Ford in 1950 and had three children. They were married for 60 years until Bob passed away in 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Joyce was a homemaker until Bob convinced her to learn how to groom their toy poodle, Napoleon after their groomer left town. It was the start of a new career that lasted for over 50 years and one that she greatly enjoyed. She shared her grooming talents with many of her furry clients that held a special place in her heart as well as their owners with whom she became close friends with. She reluctantly closed her business at the age of 85 but continued to keep in touch with many of her customers and their fur babies. Joyce maybe gone but her kindness to others will never be forgotten.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Ford, son-in-law, Jack Alexander Demack, and daughter-in-law, Salli Ford. She is survived by her children Claude Ford of San Mesa, CA, Jim Ford of Alvin, TX, and Robin Demack of Galveston, TX. Grandchildren Meredith Blair Cohen and husband, Michael of Houston, TX and Alexandra Nicole Demack of Galveston, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
