Joseph Simon Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Michael Simon, 51, of Pearland, Texas, was welcomed into heaven on November 13, 2024, after being lost to us far too soon. Joe was born in Galveston, Texas, on January 5, 1973, to his parents, Charles Thomas Simon and Donna O’Connor. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished son. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.

Joe found joy in working on cars, spending quality time with his family, and cheering on the Houston Texans. He had a special place in his heart for dogs and was always ready to help anyone in need. Joe dedicated much of his life to Peanuts Towing, the family business he built alongside his mother, Donna O’Connor, and stepfather, Thomas “Peanut” O’Connor. Through hard work, perseverance, and a generous spirit, he established Peanuts Towing as a respected name in the community. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy, an experience that shaped his character and commitment to serving others. One of his greatest joys was his special bond with his daughter, Josie Simon. Joe cherished every moment spent with her, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Mfon “Mary” Simon, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love, and their cherished daughter, Josie Simon (6). He was also the proud father of Shemyria Simon and Anthony Simon. Shemyria blessed Joe with grandchildren Edward Jr. (10), Eligha (7), Ezekiel (6), and baby Azariah (1 month old). Anthony, along with his wife Samara, blessed him with grandchildren Austin (8), Andrew (6), Saylor (4), Soleil (2), and twins expected in December 2024, Jovi and Stormy. Joe is also survived by his loving mother, Donna O’Connor.

Joe will be dearly missed by his siblings: Charles Simon and his wife Jaqueline, and their children Kristen, Caroline, and Andrew; James “Jimmy” Simon and his children Julia and Joanne; Robert Simon and his wife Cindy, and their children Cara and Megan; and David Simon and his wife Lori, and their children Jake and Skylar. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas “Peanut” O'Connor, and his father, Charles Thomas Simon, with whom he now joins in heaven.

Joe’s strength, kindness, and humor touched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind.

Services honoring Joe’s life will be held on Monday, November 18th, with visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a burial service at 11:00 AM. Both services will take place at Hayes Grace Memorial Park, located at 10708 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.

Rest in peace, Joe. You will be remembered with love always.
