Forrest Hollon, age 88, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at Jennie Sealy Hospital. He was born in Wolverine, Kentucky on February 25, 1935 to Monroe Hollon and Nannie Burnet. He served in the U.S Army at Fort Crockett here in Galveston, where he met the love of his life, Mildred Kovacevich. He was discharged from the Army in 1955 and they were married in 1956. He worked for Island Transit and Falstaff Brewery. He then went to work for UTMB, where he retired after 20 years of service.
He was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Hollon; son Blajoge Monroe Hollon; and siblings Stanley Hollon, Billie Jean Stamper, Thelma Sue Bragg and Alvie Hollon.
He is survived by his daughter Carrie Hollon and her husband Joey LeBlanc; and grandson Cameron LeBlanc.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Serbian Orthodox Cemetery, 2804 61st Street, Galveston, Texas with Father George Veselinovic officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joey LeBlanc, Cameron LeBlanc, Elliot Clark, Allen Tyler, Donnie Brannen and Nicholas Brannen.
