Enrique Olivarez, Sr.

Enrique “Ricky” Olivarez Sr., mechanic and maintenance of Moody Gardens and longtime resident of Galveston, Texas passed away unexpectedly, February 2nd, 2020 at the age of 59.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending Church. His life was a living example of one of his favorites Bible verse, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Ephesians 4:32  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Maria Josie Olivarez, Enrique Olivarez Jr., Carlos Olivarez (Laticia), Lucinda Olivarez (Devon) and Selena Olivarez; his sister’s, Juanita Torrez and Maria Villarreal; his brother Johnny Rodriguez: his grandchildren, Sebastian, Adelyn, Jocelyn, Evan, Raven, Nadia, Deion, Donovan, Carlos Jr., Esperanza, and Kobe; his niece, Rosie Torrez; his nephew, Martin Torrez and numerous of great nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rafael Olivarez; his mother, Maria Herminia Olivarez; his son, Ralphy Olivarez; his brother, David Rodriguez; and his sisters Eudelia Rodriguez and Manuela Mendoza.

The family would like to thank UTMB for their care, dedication, and support that has been giving to us as well as Moody Gardens- Golf Course.  A celebration of his life will be held at Lighthouse Family Church, 7402 Stewart Road in Galveston, Texas 77551 on February 8th, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
