Elizabeth Ann Deiss

Elizabeth Ann Deiss passed away peacefully April 30, 2025 at her Galveston home. She was born July 11, 1936 in Houston to Louis and Elizabeth Matson. She liked to claim to be a BOI, since she was Baptized on the Island where extended family lived there and had lived since before 1900. 

Elizabeth worked in the family business before her real estate career at The House Company. She married Dr. William P Deiss in June 1981 and they enjoyed 36 years together before his passing.

Elizabeth enjoyed hosting family holiday gatherings and taking her grandchildren to all the fun Galveston activities. 

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her son, Lew Benham and grandsons, V. Joseph Campo and Patrick Campo. 

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Ann Wilbanks (Erwin), Lisa Campo (Sam) and son, Larry Benham. Her grandchildren Elizabeth Campo, Stephen Campo (Tabitha) and Ashley Garcia. Her stepchildren, Paula Roberts and her children, Billy Roberts, Randy Roberts and Paul Roberts, Diana Mysliwiec and her children Anna Davis and Catherine Mysliwiec; and David Deiss.

The family wishes to thank LaToya Horn, Crystal Butler, and Zalena Grismore for their wonderful caregiving. 

Following Elizabeth’s wishes, a family graveside service will be held.
