Edward Iannone Obituary

Edward Jacob Iannone, 94, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 16, 2022. He passed away at home in Houston, Texas due to natural causes.

Ed Iannone was born in Benwood, West Virginia to Vito Antonio and Rhea Rosella (Milbaugh) Iannone. He had nine siblings and three pets.

A lighthearted story by Ed:  His Grandfather Jacob Milbaugh used to chew tobacco. When the kids were outside, his grandpa would spit tobacco at their toes. He said, I think I was his preference, not sure of that. Ed was a delightfully humorous gentleman, who could find humor in any situation.

In his 20's Ed met Joyce Dayoub. They both worked in Wheeling, West Virginia and after work they would go dancing at a local club. He was a true Fred Astaire when it came to the dance floor.

Ed and Joyce fell in love, and they started a family, complete with four children, Michele, Christine, Edward Jr., and Joyce Lynn.

Ed and Joyce established Carpets by Joy and their fruitful venture supported multiple families for 32 years. Ed was featured on a local news channel for giving ex-cons a second chance. He was a benevolent and generous man. Ed was a Mason and member of the Grand Lodge of Ohio since 1951.

As a family they loved traveling across the globe, spending time at the lake boating/fishing, and spending time with family/friends.

Edward was the “Greatest Generation” and one of the most unselfish and big-hearted people who ever lived. He loved the Lord and loved his family with every fiber of his being. He had a soft heart for animals.

Ed lost Joyce after 30 years of an extraordinary marriage. Several years later, he married a remarkable woman Beverly (Treadwell) Iannone.

He was preceded in passing by the loves of his life Joyce Dayoub Iannone and Beverly Treadwell Iannone. His only son Edward Jacob Jr. Iannone. Siblings: Herbert Ray Iannone, Harold William Iannone, Nellie Grace Harper, Donald Lowell Iannone, Mildred L. Iannone, Eileen Iannone, Albert Iannone and Ruth Jane Iannone.

Edward Iannone is survived by: Michele Iannone, Christine Teresa Iannone, Joyce Lynn Iannone, Susan Foster, and sister Eva Jean Iannone Sexton. Grandchildren:  Bradley Jr. & (Angela) Mathe, Christopher Mathe, Christine & (Joel) Hutsell, Charles Jr. and (Jesse) Richardson, Teresa Kay & (Ed) Myer, and Jason & (Bethany) Iannone. Great grandchildren:  Julia and (Levi) Ray, Cleo Richardson, Julian Iannone, Aiden Iannone, Anastasia Katherine Mathe, Justin Tyler Carmen, Eddie Myer, Luke Myer, and Reese Myer.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 1:00 pm to honor him.  The celebration will be at Houston First Baptist Church (Chapel), 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
