Constance "Jacque" O'Rourke Negrotto

It is with a heavy heart that we share that our beloved Constance Jacquelyn “Jacque” O’Rourke Negrotto passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024.  Jacque was born in Galveston, Texas on February 1, 1946, to John F. and Constance “Connie” O’Rourke. Jacque graduated from Dominican High School in the Class of 1964 where she graduated with many cherished friends who have remained lifelong friends with her. Jacque met and married the love of her life, her soulmate, Barry J. Negrotto at Sacred Heart Church on September 18, 1970, and soon after, they moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where they resided for many years.

While in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jacque & Barry, worked for the State of Louisiana for many years until retirement. Then they created, owned & operated a thriving business, Bouton Bijoux, where they sold jewelry at shows in many states. Once again, Jacque expanded her friendship circle and acquired a larger circle of lifelong friends. Most of all, Jacque enjoyed and cherished spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved fur baby, Maisee! Jacque was known for her kind heart, everlasting positive attitude and beautiful smile. She never met a stranger and always treated everyone that she met as a cherished friend and loved one! The statement, “To know her, was to love her” defines her presence & impact on her friend’s lives! 

Jacque was preceded in death by her parents, Constance “Connie” O’Rourke and John F. O’Rourke; devoted husband, Barry J. Negrotto; daughter, Melinda (Mindy) Negrotto; brother, John F. III, O’Rourke and cousins, Lloyd J. O’Rourke, and Randy Gould. Left to cherish her memory are: brother, Ted O’Rourke and wife Charlotte O’Rourke; sister-in-law, Bonnie Negrotto Mims and her husband Dale; grandchildren, Brandon Ray and wife Lexi; Brittany Saucier; great grandchild, Maddie O’Rourke; nephew & nieces, Sean O’Rourke and wife Kristin; Michael O’Rourke and wife Brid Nic Dhonnchadha; Bryan O’Rourke; Kelly O’Rourke, and Rebecca O’Rourke; great nieces, Brooke O’Rourke, Leia O’Rourke, Kennedy O’Rourke, Keira O’Rourke. Jacque was adored by her loving cousins, Susan Salisbury and husband Bob, and Cheryl Day and husband Redus. She is also survived by numerous lifelong friends who made sure that Jacque’s every request was met and would constantly remind her that she was loved and an important person in their lives. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, 2128 Broadway, Galveston, Texas 77553 from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 6:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00am at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery, 3015 57th. St. in Galveston Texas, 77551. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Sean O’Rourke, Michael O’Rourke, Bryan O’Rourke, Redus Day, Bob Salisbury, Leroy Naschke, and Paul Ozymy.
