Billy Buinski Obituary

Billy Patrick Buinski was born on November 30, 1948 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. He was very proud of being a "B.O.I." Billy lost his fight with cancer on June 7, 2016. Billy was preceded in death by his Father, Stanley J. Buinski. And Mother, Dorothy Agnes Mallia Buinski, Uncles, Kenneth and Leon Mallia, and Aunt, Winefred Mallia Hill. Billy never married and never had children, claiming to be a lifetime member of The Lonely Hearts Club. After graduating from Ball High School, Billy studied at the University of Houston. Billy was a trombone player and an avid fan and student of jazz. After the death of his Mother, Billy and his Dad were inseparable, and upon the death of his Dad, he received great joy in attending classes at UTMB OLLI. One of his favorite classes was the creative writing class taught by Ball High School classmate, Saralyn Richard. He also found comfort and joy with his church family at Moody Methodist Church. Billy was very independent and did not like to ask for help, even when he really needed it, yet he was the first to volunteer to help others when he saw the opportunity. Memorial Services for Billy Buinski will be held on Friday, July 8th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m, at Moody Methodist Church, Galveston, Texas, Reverend Ray Pinard and Reverend Dr. Randall Robinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, Billy requests donations be made to OLLIE, UTMB Cancer Research, Ada Women's Shelter, or a charity of your choice.
