Ann Rourke Wallace, 84, passed away on April 7th in Galveston, Texas. She was born February 25, 1942 to Joseph and Elzie Rourke at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston. She

attended Ball High School when she quit on her 18th birthday to marry the love of her life Wade Wallace. They were married one week later on March 4, 1960 and were happily married for 41 years until his passing. During this time she completed her GED, earned an Associate's degree, her real estate license, and a nursing home director credential. 

She loved the Astros and baseball in general, especially when her grandsons and great grandson played. For the past ten years she was very involved with the Elks of Galveston. She thoroughly enjoyed steak Wednesday and card-playing Thursdays. She also was very active in attending her various senior luncheons. 

Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Pete Kovacevich, Sr., her daughter-in-law Belinda Wallace and her sister Claudia Rourke Rumlow. She is also survived by nine grandchildren - Gerald, Chris, Travis (Sarah) and Abbie (Andrew) Wallace and Dana (Ruben) Escamilla, Pete (Staci) Kovacevich, Jr., Marla Kovacevich, Megan (Daniel) Perez and Ashley (C.J.) Guidry as well as 17 great grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by per parents, husband, son Wade Richard, her sisters Myrna Swearingen and Saundra Dower and her brothers Joe and Donald Rourke. 

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Elks in Galveston.
