Alfonso Gerald Marullo, age 78, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was known as ‘Curly’ by his family and ‘Al’ by his friends. He was the oldest of 4 children born to Helen and Alfonso Marullo, raised in Galveston.
He is survived by his brothers Jerry and Don, sister Jo Ann, wife of 57 years Darrell, son Randy, daughter Kelly (SIL Matthew), grandkids and a great grandson who were the center of his universe.
Aside from his family, his biggest joy in life was fishing with family and friends and eating lunch at Whataburger. Those who knew him, loved him. Those who just met him, felt like they knew him for years. Those who never had the chance to meet him, wished they had. His personality was contagious and his sense of humor was like no other. He will be missed, but his memories will live on forever.
A memorial service will be held at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 4:00 P.M., with a veteran ceremony honoring his time in the US Navy. His service will be officiated by his cousin, Deacon John Pistone. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 3:00 P.M.
