Adrienne Lee Bartley loved deeply, with her whole heart. She was devoted to her family, friends and cat Gizmo. She loved all animals, and spent half her life caring for them as a veterinary assistant. She was passionate about the rescues who had been abandoned. She especially loved her work at the Galveston Humane Society.
Adrienne was also passionate about music, art, plants, cooking and eating. She often surprised friends and family with tasty gifts from her kitchen. She loved drawing, Lifetime movies, and candy. She also loved scary movies, the Black Crows and all things mermaid. The ocean was a favorite place and since her name means from the sea, she decided on a mermaid tattoo and one that reads “girl from the sea”.
She was a girl who was loyal to those she loved and still had close friends from high school – once you were her friend, it was for life. Her life was shorter than many, but full and often overflowing with love, laughter and joy. She thoroughly enjoyed riding her bike and exploring Galveston.
Adrienne passed away June 19 at her home in Galveston following a sudden illness. She was 34.
She was preceded in death by her father, John L. Bartley Jr.; stepfather, John L. Parkinson; grandparents, John L. and Opal Bartley; and grandparents, Hubert and Lenora Dorman.
