Adan Sauceda Obituary

Adan Sauceda, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. He was born on April 24, 1953.

Adan is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Sauceda; his children Julia, Adan Jr., Alberto, Jose Antonio, and Adrian; and his grandchildren Yulissa, Adam Joseph, Alexis, Jessica, Adriana and Cielito. He is also survived by his brothers Fidel Sauceda of Galveston, TX, Andres Sauceda of Abilene, TX, and Guadalupe Sierra of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and his sisters Angela Sauceda and his twin, Eva Barrera, both of McAllen, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Angel Sr. and Lidia Sauceda, brothers Guadalupe (Lupe), Jose Angel (Gelo) Sauceda and Granddaughter Alyssa.

Adan was a dedicated family man who led with quiet strength. Though soft-spoken, his actions spoke volumes, showing his deep love and commitment to those closest to him. He loved cheering on the Houston Astros, watching NFL football—especially the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans—and never missed a good boxing match, often watching them with his brother “Gelo.”

He worked many years at Todd’s Shipyard and the Galveston Park Board, where he set an example of hard work and dedication. Adan passed those values on to his children and grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of integrity and perseverance.

He met the love of his life, Bertha, in McAllen, Texas. They married in California and built a beautiful life together in Galveston, surrounded by family, laughter, and enduring love.
