Galveston – Diana “Dee Dee” Ruttiger Espinosa, age 59, passed away early Monday morning, August 5, 2019 at UTMB Hospital. She was born in Galveston, Texas on January 28, 1960.
Dee Dee was a vibrant soul with and was loved by all whom were fortunate enough to have met her. Dee Dee received a Catholic childhood education at Our Lady Guadalupe where she learned scripture and attended weekly mass, she later attended Ball High School where she served on the dance team as a Whirlette.
Dee Dee received her cosmetology license for Galveston College and was a highly respected and sought out stylist for nearly 30 years!
In younger years, she enjoyed riding horses with her siblings and cousins, rode motorcycles with her husband Javier and later settled into her role as wife, mother, and nana.
She was a creator who expressed herself through sewing and painting! It was her dream to share her art with everyone.
Dee Dee was admired by all for more than just beauty. She will be remembered for her undeniable strength, her courage, but more over her wild sense of humor sassy attitude.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Crystal Gerondale; mother Barbara Jean Norman; father Edward “Skippy” Ruttiger; sister Kathy Jean Taylor; cousins Larry Black and Skippy Black.
She is survived by her husband Javier Espinosa; daughters Jennifer Lynn and Alicia Espinosa; grandchildren Marissa Gutierrez, Chelsea Gutierrez, Valerie Gutierrez, Mariah Reyes, Jesse Reyes, III and April Reyes; great-grandson Bryce Matthew Galvan; brothers Tim Ruttiger and Eddie Ruttiger, II; and numerous other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Deacon Sam Dell’Olio officiating.
