Herndon C. “Buggar” Moffatt, Jr., age 63, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Born February 27, 1954 in Hearne, Texas, Buggar lived in Galveston, Texas since the age of 7. He attended Ball High School where he met his wife of 46 years, Pam. He enjoyed surfing, golfing, playing guitar, astronomy, watching sports and golf on TV. Buggar was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who never met a stranger. He had a kind heart and would do anything to help friends and family. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.

The light of his life was his grandson Cian, they often rode the ferry together, played at the park, watched the ships come into Galveston and played at the beach. While in the hospital, Cian always made his PawPaw smile.

For the last 30 years he was a second generation wood floor contractor/installer, following in his father’s footsteps. Buggar took great pride in his work and passed his talent for floor work on to his son Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Evelyn and Herndon C. Moffatt, Sr.; brother Richard Crouch; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Bright and father-in law James W. Henkel.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Moffatt; son Michael Moffatt; grandson Cian McGovern; sister Diann Wagner and husband Brent; sister-in-laws Nan Henkel, Jan Henkel (Deb) and Sandra Crouch; nieces and nephews, Jaime Holbert (Brett), Michele Henkel(Sue), Kent Crouch(Cheryl), April Edwards(Curtis), Mary Henkel(Chris) and Ashly Castro(Joe); and great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous other family members.

The family would like to thank staff of Methodist Hospital Alkek 9, IMU for the care they gave Buggar.
