Wilhelmina (Mimi) Simmons Hinton was born in Galveston, Texas on April 29, 1930. She passed away on July 25, 2016 at the age of 86.

She is preceded in death by husband James W. Hinton, Sr., parents, Joe and Pearl Simmons of Galveston, and a sister, Anna Lucas of Hitchcock.

She attended Ball High School and graduated in 1947. She was married to James W. Hinton, Sr. in 1948 until his death in 1983. Early in her life, as wife and mother, Wilhelmina was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and later became a member of First Lutheran Church. She taught at Anderson Academy many years as a preschool teacher and fondly became known as “Mimi” to all her students as well as her own family.

She is survived by her son Jim Hinton and wife Elizabeth of Galveston, daughter Cathy Williams and husband Ron of League City; five grandchildren, Michael Hinton and wife Lina of Illinois, Jeff Williams and wife Stephany of Conroe, Tanya Morton and husband Chris of Hitchcock, David Williams and wife Laura of League City, and Wilbert Williams of League City; six great grandchildren, Gunnar, Caroline and Jadon Williams, Chloe and Christian Morton, Emma Grace Williams, and a blessed new great-grandchild to be born in the month of September to Michael and Lina Hinton; brother Fred Simmons of League City, sister-in-law Shirley Scott and husband Melvin of League City; nieces and nephews, cousin Dolly Thiem Escobedo and numerous other cousins and extended family members; and the following dear friends Ursula Deyo and Mary Campo.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Hinton, Jeff Williams, David Williams, Wilbert Williams and her great-grandsons Gunnar and Jadon Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Morton, Paul Lucas, Christian Morton, David Hinton, Dean Scott and Ray Scott.

She will be sadly missed by us all. God bless you Mom, we love you. Jim and Cathy and her whole family.
