Bobby Wasylik, a longtime Galveston resident, passed away on May 15, 2017 at his home. Bobby was born on October 20, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in Hollywood, Florida. Bobby began his lifetime of service when he enlisted in the Army at 19 years old. He served two years as an infantry medic, spending all of his time in Vietnam. Bobby was honorably discharged in 1967 and returned home to South Florida. He continued his selfless service as a firefighter and paramedic with the Hollywood Fire Department. He later worked in the air conditioning industry and started a very successful company of his own in Florida and Tennessee. In 2003, Bobby relocated to Galveston, Texas where he has been a staple of the community.
Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved brother Guy. He is survived by his life-mate of 40 years, Cheryl Proctor, two sons, Stephen and Joshua, and one daughter, Tracey. He also leaves behind two sisters, six grandchildren, among his loving family and many friends. He will forever be missed.
Memorial and celebration of the life of Bobby Wasylik will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Marios Seawall Italian Restaurant, 628 Seawall Blvd.
