Linda Ann Letizia of Galveston, Texas, died on August 18, 2017, at the age of 70. A native New Yorker, she loved Galveston and hosted her Northeastern family and friends often. She was a generous and gracious hostess with a wry sense of humor mixed with unconditional love.
She recently retired from UTMB where she held the position of Senior Billing Specialist. Linda owned a successful Florist Shop in Brooklyn for several years. She also worked in the medical field in New York City before relocating to Texas in 1998 to care for her step-father. Linda decided upon his death that the Island was her home. She refused to leave the Island even for Hurricane Ike
Linda was the beloved daughter of Charles C. Crist, Gloria Neary-Gonzalez, and Arthur L. Holdeman. She was the beloved mother of Thomas Letizia and his wife Francesca of Circleville, NY, and Gloria A. Petit, who predeceased her in 1992. Linda was the proud Grandmother of Harry S. Petit and his wife Madalyn, Thomas F Letizia, Sonya M. Stewart and her husband Ian, Nicholas T. Letizia, and Joseph T. Letizia. Linda had 8 great-grand children. She is survived by her sister Debra K. Crist and her spouse Joan E. Pelletier of Brooklyn, NY, and Wellfleet, MA, and her life long friend, Ann Marie Rogers from Paramus, NJ.
A service will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galveston, Texas, at 10:00am on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society and/or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
