Josephine DuBose, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home on Friday, December 29, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1933 in Houston, Texas. She was raised in Galveston and graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1950 as Valedictorian. After graduation, she met and married Charles Ray DuBose at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galveston, Texas. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for physicians and dentists in the Galveston and Houston area. She was a member of St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church in Houston, Texas and was active with the Deacon’s Wives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Salvatore(Sam) and Concetta(Katie) Imbroguglio; husband of 26 years Charles R. DuBose, Sr.; daughter Carol Bailey; sisters Rose Chiavoni and Grace Maglitto; and nephew Luke Maglitto.
She is survived by her children: Concetta(CJ) Rittgers; Charles R. DuBose, Jr., and Christi St. Laurent(Jason Hill); grandchildren: Matthew Bailey, Michael Bailey, Rachael Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Jesse Bailey, Amber Marin, Elexis DuBose, Austin St. Laurent, Blakely St. Laurent, Rainey St. Laurent, Jadon St. Laurent(and their father Christopher St. Laurent); 7 great-grandchildren; nephew Joe Russo and wife Darnell; niece Angie Moody( Paul); Bonita Maglitto Doss(Curtis); and numerous other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, 11027 South Gessner, Houston, Texas 77071, with Father Vincent Tran and Father Phillip Wilhite officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
