Fabian Gutierrez Jr. age 79 passed away peacefully at Gulf Health on Saturday December 9th 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Galveston Texas, on March 4th 1938 where he was a lifelong resident. Fabian (Junior) was born to Fabian and Elisa Gutierrez. He attended Galveston schools and retired from Todd Shipyard. According to his little brother Jesse, he was a heck of a football player. He met and married the love of his life Magdalena (Maggie) Perez. He would often brag about how he was a pretty good billiards player and how he paid for his wedding twice with winnings from local pool halls, once after Hurricane Carla wiped out everything and delayed the wedding, and then a second time when they said their I do’s. He married into a big family, the Perez’s. His loving sister-in-laws never passed on an opportunity to make him blush, which was always easy for them, especially Linda. He loved them all until his last day. After Maggie passed on, the Perez’s always let him know he would always be family, and as time passed he was especially close to his brother-in-law Tico, often getting together doing odd jobs for people.

Fabian is preceded in death by his wife Magdalena Perez Gutierrez; his parents Fabian and Elisa (Gonzalez) Gutierrez; his mother and father-in-law Juan and Juana Perez’; his big brother Frank Gutierrez; sister Norma Reyna; and his brother-in-law Joe Gutierrez.

He is survived by his three sons, Orlando Gutierrez and wife Martha, Johnny Gutierrez and Gary Gutierrez and Lisa Love; his grandchildren, Nicole Garza and husband Michael, Gary (Bubba) Gutierrez, Danielle McLellan, Leah Gutierrez, Stephen and wife Sabrina, Scott and wife Candace, Alexandra, Ashley, Alissa, and Alexis Gutierrez and Christy Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Madison, and Mason Garza; Troy Gutierrez, Rickey, Isabel, Joe, Caytlyn, Kaylee and Thea Gutierrez, Lucas Santana, and Cloey Richard; a brother, Jesse Gutierrez and wife Peggy; his sisters Vera Gutierrez and Margaret Rodriguez; his sisters and brothers-in-law Chavela, Gavina, Marcus, Ralph, Fernando and Margie, Ninfa, Linda, Victoria and Delores; and numerous nieces and nephews; Although he had no daughters, he loved his nieces, Cindy Muraca, Diane Chide, and Elizabeth Bennett like his very own.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to his granddaughter Nicole Garza and great-grandkids MaKayla, Madison, and Mason who provided him with more love, care and smiles than anyone could hope for.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, beginning at 9:00 A.M. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 A.M., with a funeral service following at 10:00 A.M., with Deacon Robert Standridge officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Gary (Bubba) Gutierrez, Michael Garza, Stephen Gutierrez, Scott Gutierrez, Scott Muraca Jr., and Alex Ybarra. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Garza, Troy Gutierrez, and Lucas Santana.
