Jeannette Framer

January 15, 1923 — January 12, 2014




Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Congregation Beth Jacob Cemetery, with Rabbi James Kessler officiating.


Jeannette Framer, age 90, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at UTMB Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1923 in Akron, Ohio. Jeannette was a teacher and Chairman of the Social Studies Department at Ball High School for many years. She did volunteer work for Moody Gardens and Ronald McDonald House. Jeannette and husband, Morris, received awards as Volunteers of Year in 1994-1995 with the 1894 Grand Opera House, and in 1995-1996 with the Lone Star Performing Arts Association. During her long life she was variously a member of Congregation Beth Jacob and Temple B’nai Israel. Jeannette was a member of Hadassah and the Sisterhood of both congregations.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morris Framer.

She is survived and by her sons Lee Framer and his wife Isabel and Edward Framer and his wife Karen; her brother Saul and his wife Jan; grandchildren Aaron Framer, Francesca Framer, Stephanie Framer, Jessica Matousek and husband Bob, and Jennifer Salisbury and husband Aaron; great grandchildren Jacob and Jordyn Matousek and Everett and Elena Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
