Eliseo Saldana

A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, Galveston. Mr. Saldana's family will be receiving friends for visitation at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Galveston, TX with Deacon Henry Herrera officiating.

Burial will follow services Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.

  Eliseo Saldana, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 with his family by his side. He was the loving and protective patriarch of all of his family. A man with a generous heart, very caring and very nurturing, opening his home to whoever was in need of his helpful and giving ways.

Mr. Saldana was born to Eleno and Feliciana Espinoza Saldana January 24, 1929 in Brownsville, Texas. For many years and for most of his life he worked and lived on Galveston Island where he was employed by the island's local Cotton Compress Company. He was a hardworking individual and wonderful provider for his family and his kind and loving ways are instilled in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.

Mr. Saldana is preceded in death by one of his sons, Jesse Saldana. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Susana Saldana of Richmond, TX and also his children, Fatima Bethancourt and husband, Victor, of Rosenberg, TX, Ernesto Saldana and wife, Mary of Los Fresnos, TX, Larry Saldana of Richmond,TX and Thomas Saldana and wife, Theresa of Houston, TX. Sharing in his loss, also, is Mr. Saldana's granchildren, Victor Adrian Bethancourt, Jesus Eduardo Saldana, Abigail Cassandra Saldana, Ernest Saldana, Jr., Travis Cody Saldana, Thomas Saldana, Jr. and Christina Rosa Jean Moore and husband, Bradman, a host of other loving family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers will be Victor Bethancourt, Heriberto Pedraza, Travis Saldana, Mario Montes, Michael Montes and Matthew Montes.
