Eva Martinez, 68, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 in Dickinson, Texas. She was born August 5, 1948 in Galveston, Texas to Consuelo & John L. Molina. She was a lifelong resident of Galveston Island. Eva was a 1967 graduate of Ball High School in Galveston, and a member of LULAC Council 151 for over 50 years. Some of Martinez’s achievements include being named LULAC National Woman of the Year in 1995, being president of Council 639, co-chairwoman of the state LULAC convention, the chairwoman of Cinco de Mayo and LULAC District 18 secretary. Eva was actively involved in her community and took pleasure in helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Salvador Martinez, Jr., grandson, Michael Anthony Parker, Jr., Brothers; Tony Ovalle, and Phillip Ovalle.
Eva is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Marie Sifuentes and husband, Felix, Tracy Renee Parker and husband, Michael; son and daughter-in-law, David Martinez and wife, Juanita; and her baby girl Alexandria Martinez; her 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers, John L. Molina, Jr., Jim W. Molina, Rudy Villarreal; sisters, Mary L. Prada, Gloria M. DeLeon, and Theresa Ovalle; and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00pm at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home with Deacon John Pistone officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. A reception will follow the service at the VFW Post 880, 1014 24th & Avenue K, Galveston, Texas 77550.
The family wants to extend their appreciation to the staff at Texas Home Health, Texas Home Health Hospice, Dr. Spangler’s staff, the staff at SNG Dialysis, and our dear friend, Jennifer Derby, for the love and care shown and given to our dear mother.
