Natalie Jimenez, age 88, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Friendswood. Born October 22, 1927 in Galveston to deceased John C and Urania Jimenez. While in Galveston a member of the St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, retiree of UTMB after 20 years service and volunteer for various organizations.

She was predeceased by parents, two sons Michael H. Rodriguez and Henry Rodriguez III and sister Cora Caballero.  

Her survivors include two daughters Lorraine Ward, husband Speedy, and Pamela Moore and David Moore. 

Granddaughters are Patricia Elkins, Jennifer Jones husband Jason, Nevia Essex husband Jeff, Crystal Day husband Michael, Suzanne Reeve husband Ryan, Noel Neuman husband Steve. Great Grandchildren Ethan Elkins, Jaxon and Preslee Jones, Everett and Holden Essex, Dustin and Christopher Day, Sophia Schulgen, Ayden and Priscilla Neuman. Sisters include Rae Hester, Armida Jimenez and Thelma and Richard Chavez.

She was a strong independent woman accepting life as it was presented to her and through her faith made an ordinary life extra ordinary. She had a committed and strong work ethic. As was passed on to her, she passed on to her children the importance of family unity.

Visitation will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica on Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 9:00 am. A rosary to begin at 9:30 am., with Deacon Sam Dell’Olio officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am., with Father Orrin Halepeska officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be John Caballero, Terry Hester, Larry Ochoa, Jason Jones, Jeff Essex and Ray Cibulski. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Chavez and Ethan Elkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer Assn. or a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care and Faith Community Hospice Team for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
