Freddie John Kolenovsky, better known as “Fritz”, age 85, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at his residence. He was born on October 6, 1931 in West, Texas. He moved to Galveston at the age of 3, and lived there until 1996. He then moved to Crystal Beach to be closer to his grandchildren. He lived there until 2008, when Hurricane Ike struck the Bolivar Peninsula. He spent his last years in Dickinson Texas. He worked for the Boilermakers Local No. 132 for almost 50 years, retiring in 1994. He loved to fish, play cards and dominoes and play the machines. He also loved to shoot the breeze, while having a cold one with his friends. He was a great cook and loved cooking for large groups of people.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Janie Kolenovsky; his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Frances Peterson Kolenovsky; and four brothers, Ernie, Barney, Soup and Jimbo Kolenovsky.

He is survived by his daughters Debra Kolenovsky, Donna McDonald and her husband Danny; grandchildren Jamie Blackburn and her husband Bryan, Brandi Briggs and Toni Basaldu; great-grandchildren Garrett, Austin, Caden, Kalob and Kyrah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Reverend Bill Glidden officiating. Interment will follow at the Crystal Beach Cemetery in Crystal Beach, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.

The family would like to thank the workers of Hallmark Hospice for their care. They would also like to thank Rhea Kincy for all of her loving care during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Crystal Beach, 1260 Highway 87, Crystal Beach, Texas 77650.
