Charles Edward Young passed peacefully from this life on May 12, 2016 at his home. Ed was born August 1, 1952 in Texas City, TX. Ed proudly served 6 years in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1977. He worked at Union Carbide/ Dow for over 30 years. Ed was passionate about being a positive role model for the youth of Galveston County especially those at St John’s United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Charlene Young.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Neva Young; son Chuck Young and his wife Emily; daughter Kristina Brown and her husband Chris; granddaughters Mackenzie Young and Madeline Brown; brothers Rick Young, Gary Young, and Mack Allen Young; beloved nieces and nephews; and his godchildren Christian and Kaitlyn Kimmey.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 7:00 P.M., at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 8200 25th Avenue North, Texas City, Texas, with Rev. Stephanie Hughes officiating. At Ed’s request, a memorial fund is being established to send youth to Lakeview Methodist church camp. Donations will be accepted at St. John’s or may be sent to the family.
