Michael Joseph Elco passed away on Thursday, August 20th, 2015. He was born in Galveston, Texas on February 19, 1953.
Before he retired, Michael worked for Baker Hughes for 25 years, using his expertise to advise the directional drilling crews where to find oil and gas deposits in shale formations. He was highly regarded in his field, and his co-workers and friends thought very highly of him.
Michael was the person that everybody gravitated toward, and left lasting memories on the lives that he touched. His hobbies included fishing and crabbing, feeding his birds and squirrels, and growing a wide variety of vegetables in his garden. He was a very kind and generous man, and supported St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN., as well as his college alma mater, Stephen F. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Betty Elco, and his brother John Elco. He is survived by his sisters Lynn Alexander, Susan Reid, Lisa Muehlberger and husband Mike, and nieces Robin Alexander and Stephanie Reid.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, with a Vigil service to begin at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Deacon Robert Standridge officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.
