Guadalupe Ochoa Alcorta, age 97, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 surrounded by family at her residence in Galveston, Texas. She was born in Seguin, Texas on March 2, 1918.

She and Victor Alcorta, Sr, the father of her children, moved to Galveston in 1945.
Once her children were grown, she worked at UTMB until she retired in 1995, at which time she purchased a small cottage that she enjoyed decorating and updating on a regular basis. She loved sitting on the porch with her company, shaded by a beautiful oak tree in her front yard. Lupe had a great passion for sewing, crocheting, designing flower arrangements and had an extensive collection of beautiful dolls and dishes, many representing the Victorian era.

Cooking and enjoying family and friends were her favorite pastimes. She loved to prepare her favorite dishes often and she loved making and eating fresh HOT sauce, the hotter the better, her speciality!!!
The family would be remiss if we didn't mention her passion for shopping. She could shop for hours especially at her favorite store Goodwill Industries where she was always in search of antique furniture, dolls and dishes. If she had owned a vehicle, it would have been a pick-up big enough to handle her purchases.

She was preceded in death by her parents Felicity and Albert Ochoa; four brothers, Joe, Pete, Albert and Andrew Ochoa and three sisters, Mary Garcia, Pauline Ochoa and Lilly Savage; daughter Helen Trevino; son-in-law Thomas Garcia, III; Victor Alcorta, Sr and her devoted companion, Mario Rodon.

She is survived by her sister Hortense Kirtley of Texas City; daughters, Julia Garcia of Richwood; Lilly Perez and husband Amos of Baytown; Alice Alcorta of Galveston and Son Victor Alcorta, Jr and wife Mary of Austin; twelve grandchildren Frank Trevino and wife Margaret Krausse of Pearland; Judy Trevino and husband Jorge Cuellar of Angleton; Becky Robertson and husband Gary of Angleton; Thomas Garcia, III and wife Samantha of Lake Jackson; David Garcia and wife Amber of Porter; Michael Garcia and wife Johanna of Lake Jackson; Victor Alcorta, III and wife Robyn of Austin; Joseph Alcorta and wife Melissa of Austin, CJ Alcorta and wife Danielle of Austin; Victor Joe Hernandez and wife Karen of Angleton; Debbie Rodriguez and husband Marc of Baytown and Andrew Baccinelli, Jr of Galveston; 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

The family gratefully acknowledges her loving caregivers Gladys Hood, Maria Hacker, Eloisa Huerta and her best friend and Comadre Carmen Aceves.

Services will be held at J Levy and Termini Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2015. The family will receive family and friends at 2:00 and services will begin at 3:00 officiated by Pastor Rudy Soto.

Lupe lived life to the fullest! She was quite a lady!
