Genevieve Charlene LeDoux Watts passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving daughter and granddaughters.
“Ginger” as she was fondly known, was born in Manchester, NH on May 29, 1936.
She is preceded in death by father Roger LeDoux, mother Stella Downey, brother J.C. Downey, sister Muriel Roy, daughter Colleen Watts Kahler and Aunt Peggy Lemire; and other nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her loving daughter and best friend Charlene Rae Watts (Henry), former husband Raymond Watts, granddaughters Brooke Muraca (Scott) and Brianne Kahler (Aaron) and also great grandsons, Scotty and Tyler Muraca and Easton Kahler.
Also lifelong friends, Tom and Lou Houston, Phyllis Smith and Nora Brooks.
Ginger followed her husband to Galveston in 1957 upon his discharge from the Navy. She adopted the Island as her home and remained, working first at Walgreens and later in the banking industry and also at McCoy’s as a cashier. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Resto and Kathy Albright of UTMB and the Texas Home Health – Hospice team for their care and compassion during this difficult time. A special thanks to family friend Tina Matthews, and Rebel Heasley with Hospice, for the care and compassion they gave Ginger over the last months of her life.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2105 at 7:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, with Robert Chapa officiating. Visitation will be held prior to service time beginning at 5:00 P.M. A private burial of her ashes will be held at a later date by her family.
