Charles was a joy and an inspiration to his large and loving family. He will be sadly missed by his seven aunts and six uncles, thirteen first cousins and nine second cousins. He was the beloved son of John Wilson Hornsby, Jr. and Angela Sigur Hornsby and best friend to his devoted sister, Kelly Kathleen Hornsby. Charles loved spending time with his oldest brother, Trey (John Wilson Hornsby III), his sister-in-law Stephanie Hornsby, his nephews Wilson and Reid, and niece, Brooke Hornsby. He is the grandson of Donald and Patricia Sigur of Lake Charles, LA.

Preceding Charles in death were his paternal grandparents, John Wilson Hornsby, Sr. and Muriel Prim Hornsby of New Orleans, LA.

Charles was a graduate of Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, KS. Prior to his illness, Charles was enrolled as a student at Galveston College and looked forward to a career in computer programming. He loved to help others, volunteering at The Academy, a campus for special-needs children, as well as the local animal shelter in Kansas. He also worked as a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston and the Galveston Humane Society.
