Services

A remembrance service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held prior to service time beginning at 5:00 P.M.

  Alfonso Flores, Jr., age 81, died March 10, 2015 at UTMB Hospital. He was born in Galveston, Tx. on February 18, 1934 to Alfonso and Nicolasa Flores. He was a lifelong Galveston resident and a Ball High graduate. He was one of the first members of the Ball High golf team where he developed his lifetime love of the game. During younger years he used his abilities in the sport to travel and play at many exclusive golf clubs and courses and with some of the greats. He was a service veteran in the US Army and retired from Todd's Shipyard. In later years, he could be seen daily, walking the course at Galveston Country Club playing and coaching others in the sport he loved.

He was preceded in death by wife Josephine Flores with whom he spent his life with until her death in 2011; parents Alfonso and Nicolasa Flores; brothers - Jose and Johnny Flores; sisters - Theresa Salinas, Florence Ratliff, Leonora Hernandez, and Gloria Masters.

He is survived by sister Mary Chavarria; several step-children and grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A remembrance service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to service time beginning at 5:00 P.M.
