Services

Visitation will be held at 5 pm – 7pm Sunday, January, 12, 2014 at St. Patrick Church in Galveston, Rosary at 7–8 pm., with Deacon Sam Dell’Olio officiating.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Patrick Church in Galveston, with Father E.J. Stein officiating, with interment following at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

 

Virjilia (Vicky) Mancillas Rocha, born June 6, 1944, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born in Galveston, Texas to Mary and Eugenio Mancillas Sr.

Vicky was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very strong in her faith in the Catholic religion. Friends and family relied on her daily prayers.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Eugenio Mancillas Sr. and sister, Elizabeth Townley.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband for 49 years, Pedro (Pete) Rocha Sr.; daughter, Sabina Rocha; brother, Pedro (Pete) Rocha Jr. and wife Holly; and grandsons, Pete Anthony Rocha, Christopher Rocha, and Matthew Paul Rocha (aka, Cala Cala by his grandma); sisters, Florence Rodriguez and husband Abel; Virgie Herrera and husband, Henry; Eva Blanchard and husband, Randy; and brother, Eugenio Mancillas Jr.; and sisters-in-law, who were like sisters, Mary Helen Nunez, Rosie Lara and husband Gilbert, Dolores Rocha-Ruiz, Alice Rocha, Paula Linda Lugo, Cristina Rocha, Delia Jones; and numerous godchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on J5D at UTMB Hospital, especially nurses, Jandi, Norma, Mary, Monica and LaToya; Drs. Aguirre and Variyam for their excellent care and support.

Pallbearers will be, Pete Anthony Rocha, Christopher Rocha, Ryan Blanchard, Richard Lara, James Nunez, and Philip Jones. Honorary pallbearer is Matthew Paul Rocha.
