Diane Kay Monford passed away in her home on Wednesday July 2, 2014 with her loved ones at her side. She had been battling cervical cancer for over two years. Even through the most trying of times Her delightful spirit was never broken. She will be sadly missed by her immediate family members and all that have come to know her.

Diane was born August 16, 1958 in Tripoli, Libya. Being the daughter of an Air Force pilot, Colonel Richard E. Little, her life took her and her family many places around the world. Some of which include: Africa, Philippines, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, and Iowa. In Iowa, she attended the University of Iowa where she received a BS in Micro-Biology. She moved to Guadalajara Mexico and attended the Autonoma De Guadalajara. She returned to the United States where she spent a year in New York City finishing her medical requirements for her residency. She was accepted to a four year program as a resident in the UTMB Pathology department. She continued her education for two more years at UTMB. One year as a Surgical Pathology Fellow and the other as Cytopathology Fellow. She went on to land a job with a company out of Austin called “House Call Doctors”. There she would see about eight patients a day with various illnesses. The unusual thing about this job was she went to the patients that were home bound or bed ridden and could not get to see a doctor otherwise. She loved her job and cared extensively for all of her patients.

Her hobbies included: Karoake, Fishing, Foosball, Bike Riding, and Dancing.

She is survived by her husband Joe Monford and daughter Katherine Elise Rosen. Other family members include: father Richard E. Little & his wife SuHee of Spokane Washington, sister Linda and her husband George Klein of Sydney Australia, brother Michael A. Little and his wife Deborah of Kansas City, Kansas, and sister Debra and her husband Randy Palizzi of Denver Colorado.

There will be a visitation of family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home, 21st and Broadway in Galveston on Saturday the 12th of July, 2014.
