Services

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 P.M., with Deacon Sam Dell’Olio officiating.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father E.J. Stein officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

David (Dave) P. Galicia of Galveston passed away Sunday December 28, 2014 at the age of 71 at U.T.M.B. Born May 24, 1943 in Galveston, TX, to Jacinto and Susie Galicia, David retired from St. Mary’s Hospital and also worked for G.I.S.D and Moody Gardens. He was married to his wife Nancy for 22 years. Dave was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he loved to go fishing, dancing and loved hanging out with family and friends. Dave was a true Dallas Cowboys Fan to the end. Dave (Popo) loved his grandchildren Candace Lopez, Dylan Gaona and Elisa Gaona.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacinto and Susie Galicia, sisters Lydia Mendoza, Maggie Gomez, Georgia Vega, Gloria Angel; brother Raymond Galicia; nieces Virginia and Angelita Mendoza.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Limones Galicia; mother-in-law Frances Limones; step-sons John and Roddy Gaona, Jesus Limones and Adam Hawkins; step-daughters Crystal Gaona, Elva Hawkins; sister-in-laws Marylou Lopez (Fidencio), Rosemary Limones, Judy Limones; brother-in-laws Jerry Limones Sr, Ben Angel Sr, and Lee Vega Sr; Godson Ruben Elizondo Jr; goddaughters Samantha Angel and Cynthia Alaniz; nephews Ben Angel Jr, Ruben Elizondo Sr, and Uncle Robert Patino; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews .

A special thanks to his nephews, Ruben Elizondo Sr, Ben Angel Jr, and step-son Roddy Gaona.

Pallbearers will be Ben Angel III, Jimmy Limones Jr, Joseph Limones, George Torreros, Tony Galicia Jr and Edward O’Conner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Elizondo Jr, Trinidad Ynigez, Robert Patino, Jerry Limones Sr, Ronnie Galicia and Julian Elizondo.
