Services

A memorial service with family will be held at Dayspring Methodist Church in Tyler on Friday, August 22, 2014, starting at 6pm.

Visitation will be held at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home in Galveston on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11am followed by a graveside service at 1pm at Galveston Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock.

  Carole "DeeDee" Joyce Giffin, 72, passed away at home while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. DeeDee was born in Texas City on November 19, 1941, the youngest of 7 children to Mary Jane and Charles Dee Miles. DeeDee had many different roles including, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother "Mimi", leader, mentor, teacher and explorer.

She worked her way to the top as a regional manager for Anderson Merchandisers. After retiring, she traveled all over the world including to Inverness, Scotland, her most favorite city. Her charismatic and loving nature spread to all she came in contact with. DeeDee's greatest treasures were her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, her beloved dog, Ms. Brown and her loving husband, McHenry Giffin, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, McHenry Giffin Jr. and wife Joannette of Tyler, Charles Dee Giffin and wife Maryanne of Wimberley; grandchildren Laurel Ashton of Austin, Dylan of Austin, Leon of Wimberley, Callie of Dallas, Lauren of Dallas and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
