Mary P. Simpton, age 90, of Galveston went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Cornerstone Hospital in Clear Lake.

Mary was born in Granger, Texas to Anton and Mary Tomecek. She was a member of K.J.Z.T., Catholic Daughters and St. Patrick Altar Society. Her passions in life were to spend time with her grandchildren, to help others and she devoted her time to different charitable organizations in Galveston with her friend Roselie Smith. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and lived life to the fullest. She also liked to go to the Casinos with her friends and cruise on the beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vivian (Bub), son Robert Simpton, mother Mary Ulrich and sister Julie Pretious.

Mary leaves behind her daughter Judy Simpton Anderson(Bobby); sons Stanley Charnetski(Kathy), Gregory Simpton and Paul Simpton; daughter-in-law Lou Ann Simpton(Frank); granddaughters Kristy Simpton(Duke), Kelly Spell(Jeffrey), Stacy Simpton, Lauren Simpton, Leslie Simpton(Gino), Taylor Charnetski and Nicole Sicola(Sammy); grandsons Ronnie Holcomb(Jodi), Curtis Simpton(Daysella), and Eric Simpton; great-grandchildren Linzy and Blain Holcomb, Avery Puccetti Cole Sicola and Camden Simpton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father E.J. Stein officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Holcomb, Curtis Simpton, Eric Simpton, Robert Simpton, Jeffrey Spell and Norris Broussard.

God has another Angel; she was truly a blessing to our family and will be sadly missed.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Kristy and Kelly for your love and gentle care that you gave to your grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl  Memphis, TN 38105.
