Louis Levie Phillips, Sr., age 61, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born on February 5, 1952 in Galveston, Texas. He graduated from Galveston Ball High School and he received an associates degree from Galveston College and his bachelor’s degree in administration from the University of Phoenix. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Louis served in the U.S Army for 13 years and then joined the U.S. Navy and served another 13 years. He was very handy in carpentry, mechanics, and just an all around person; he was also the most wonderful friend a person could have. Louis was the most wonderful husband and father anyone could ever ask for.

He is preceded in death by his mother Pearlie Phillips and father Letha L. Phillips; his sister Carol Johnson; and numerous other relatives.

He is sadly missed by his wife of 15 years, Esiquia F. Phillips. Together they had 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his son Louis Levie Phillips, Jr.(Dianne); step-sons Miguel Juan Dominguez(Shranda), David Anthony Dominguez(Ashley) and Rosendo Dominguez(Erica); step-daughter Consuelo Dominguez; and brothers Ronnie Phillips(Fredericka) and Michael Phillips(Cynthia).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at. J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Graveside service will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 11:30 A.M., with Chaplain Tom Bain officiating.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to UTMB, Cancer Department, Radiation Department and Hospice Care Team, for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
