 Interment will follow at Old Catholic Cemetery on 41st & Broadway


William F. Jones passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Bill, as he was known, was born in Dover, New Hampshire to Helen and Frank Jones on December 28, 1928. He attended school in Dover. Bill had a love for the sea and at an early age decided to get a job as a deckhand and worked himself up to become a Bosen. He loved to travel. Upon arriving in Galveston, he loved the weather of the Island and decided to stay. He met his wife Geraldine (Gerry) Novelli in October 1957 and married her on May 31, 1958. Bill later became an Ironworker and attended school in Houston. He worked as an Ironworker through Ironworkers Local 135 out of La Marque, Texas. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks, until he moved to Cypress, Texas to be close to relatives.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Frank Jones; and 7 brothers.

Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years Geraldine Novelli Jones; various nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hinojosa, Sr., Greg Hinojosa, Jr., Zachary Hinojosa, Frank Novelli, Jr., Frank Novelli, III and Sam Grizzaffi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish, 1010 35th Street, Galveston, Texas 77550 or to charity of one’s choice.
