Jennifer Hernandez, age 40, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at UTMB Hospital. She was born in Galveston, Texas on May 25, 1973. She graduated from Ball High School and Galveston College, where she received her associates degree. She worked for A & A Services at Moody Gardens. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Jennifer was a beautiful soul who cherished her time with friends and family. With such a love for all children, she treasured every precious moment with her nephew Desmond. She had such a memorable smile and laugh combined with an ability to bring a smile and laughter to those around her. Even in her passing Jennifer continues to give to others, with five organ donor recipients, breathing new life to others just as she has done for so many of us throughout her life. Her spirit will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her mother Gloria Hernandez and Ruben Castillo; father Isaias (Chay) Hernandez and wife Lisa; sister Erin Hernandez; nephew Desmond Hernandez; step-brothers Jenaro and Efren Castillo, Matthew and Timothy Harris; step-sisters Natalia Castillo and Melissa Harris; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; and her faithful dog, Louie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 P.M., with Deacon John Pistone officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father John Taosan officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Matt Harris, Tim Harris, Efren Castilo, Jenaro Castillo, Fred Richardson, II and Anthony Richardson.
