Helena Hawkins, 58, passed away February 16, 2013, at her home in Salinas, California. She was born in Lubbock, Texas, October 22, 1954. She was a young girl when she and her family moved to California from Galveston but it was always her wish to someday come back to Texas and lovingly, her family has granted her request.

Helen is preceded in death by one of her brothers, Edward D. Hawkins. She leaves behind her six children, Herlinda Rodriquez, Elva Robledo, Cruz Roque, Monica Martinez, Bernard Bobadilla and Manuel Ramirez and ten loving grandchildren. Sharing in her loss, also, is Helen's mother and step-father, Elva Medina and husband, Moses of Galveston, TX, her father, Domingo Hawkins of Houston, TX, three sisters, Celia Montalvo (Marco) of Houston, TX, Delia Hernandez (Lawrence) of Texas City, TX and Evangeline Loera (Juan) of Bakersfield, CA and her brother, George B. Hawkins (Cora) of Houston, TX. Helen also leaves behind her aunt, Vangie Vassallo of Hitchcock, TX, nieces and nephews, a host of other loving family and friends, especially her "furry-friend" and loving cat "Tazzy". She will always be in the hearts of those that knew her and loved her.

Pallbearers will be George B. Hawkins, Bernard Bobadilla, Manuel Ramirez, Eddie Robledo and Roman Roque.
