Felipa Vargas Galicia, 89, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. She was born in Galveston, Texas on January 17, 1924. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church before moving to Egypt, Texas in 1970. She was a very devout Christian woman who demonstrated her strong faith in God to her family and believed in the power of prayer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Galicia; sons Thomas and Jesse Galicia; and 3 brothers, Alex Vargas, Chayo Vargas and David Vargas.

She is survived by her sons, Alex Galicia, Robert Galicia, Daniel Galicia and Martin Galicia; daughter Cecilia Lasoya; and 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
