Betty Ann Armstrong, beloved Wife, Mother, and Grammy passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at her residence in Galveston, TX. Betty was born at the Edna Gladney home in Fort Worth, TX on November 6, 1936, and was quickly adopted by Robert and Margaret LaFleur of Beaumont, TX. She attended St Anne’s Elementary School and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1955.

Betty married Jack H. Armstrong in July 1960 and moved to Galveston where she resided until her passing. Betty gave birth to four children between 1961 and 1967. During her children’s school years she was very active in the PTA, and performed numerous volunteer services for Island Elementary. The volunteer work led to her accepting a full time position at the school for approximately ten years, after which she spent the next period of her life being the “Best Grammy” to her grand kids.
Betty was one of the original members of St Peter’s Parish, an active member of the Sea Side Seniors, and Holy Family Parish Altar Society. Betty loved to spend time with her family, read, sew (especially projects for her kids and grand kids everything from dresses, pillows, etc.), and volunteer at the church where she most recently sewed the Baptismal garments for the children being baptized.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Margaret LaFleur, son Daniel Armstrong, and stepmother Mary LaFleur. She is survived by her husband Jack H. Armstrong, son Steve Armstrong of Galveston, daughter Stacy Armstrong of Galveston and her three children, Jack Walsh, Margaret Walsh, and Daniel Walsh, and son Robert “Bob” Armstrong, his wife Lisa Armstrong of Coppell, Texas, and their three children, son David Forcey, Jr, daughter Mackenzie Armstrong, and son Luke Armstrong, step sisters Susanne Nichols and Karen Parsel of Beaumont, TX, and many other friends.

Her beautiful spirit and loving attitude will be missed by her family and all her friends.
